Optimal Bracing Type of Reinforced Concrete Buildings with Soil-Structure Interaction Taken into Consideration

This study aims to investigate the impact of soil-structure interaction (SSI) on seismic behavior reinforced concrete buildings. An advanced numerical model for SSI was developed and verified using ABAQUS software. The response a 12-story building four types soil (rock, dense soil, stiff soft soil) examined Normalized Response Spectra based Moroccan paraseismic regulation RPS 2011. global lateral displacement, inter-story drift, period were compared two bracing (column shear wall). results show that has significant buildings, responses systems with column wall are quite different. research contributions this paper include developing an SSI, examining choice providing guidance most reliable method structures various heights types. study's findings have important implications design can help improve safety reliability buildings in earthquake-prone regions. also highlights importance considering need guidelines describe be used structure's height type soil.
